Installed work has to fit the place it is going, survive the conditions, and often meet a schedule that does not care how complicated the fabrication is.
One-off work can be functional, decorative, personal, or all three at once.

This was a residential pergola we did for a client in Rawlins, Wyoming. It was a unique mix of steel, aluminum, and a very special wet hot-rod paint. We also did a very custom gate to pull everything together.
This job took Stanrod out into the field for heavy fabrication work around wind-energy equipment. It is a good example of the kind of work that does not arrive at the shop on a convenient little trailer — sometimes the shop has to go to the job.
This is a fire truck we heavily modified to go out to the Burning Man festival. We modified the spiral staircase on the back, added pop-up and down handrail, a pergola, and CNC-cut panels.
This was a simple ranch gate we did just outside of Laramie. The gate itself was straightforward; the hard part was the site. The ground was too rocky to drill post holes, so we built it around clean, colored-concrete foundations instead.
This oversized load broke down after managing to break 1-inch-thick steel. We cut new brackets, welded everything back in perfectly straight, and got the truck and its load back on the road.
